Pier stroll: the bay’s front-row seat

Watch boats, tides and town life from a walkway over the water.

Arcachon’s piers are little balconies above the bay. Jetée Thiers is a busy boat departure point; other jetties make room for fishing, a stroll or simply watching the water do its thing.

Catch the changing view

At low tide, channels appear; at high tide, boats glide close to the promenade. Look back toward town as well as out to the bay—the shoreline becomes its own map.

Share the space

Check the operator’s timetable and exact boarding point if you’re taking a boat. Otherwise, leave room for anglers and people heading aboard, take care on wet surfaces and step aside after your photo.
