Winter Town: Arcachon’s architecture walk
Turrets, bow windows and leafy streets—an open air architecture mood board.
Arcachon’s Winter Town is a hilltop neighbourhood filled with villas from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Expect turrets, bow windows, chalet details and façades that refuse to match.
Look up as you wander
Make a game of spotting balconies, rooflines and carved details. Parc Mauresque and the Sainte-Cécile observatory are handy landmarks—and good places to pause.
A neighbourhood, not a museum
These are lived-in streets with private homes and gardens. Stick to public paths, respect residents’ privacy and wear comfortable shoes for the slopes. A guided walk can add history; check current dates with the tourist office.
